Laura Schaeffer, Founder and Principal Architect
Working on the Front Range for over a decade Laura Schaeffer founded the architecture firm in 2014. We have grown into one of the leading residential design firms in the Boulder area committed to excellence in design. Laura has led the design of every project and works closely during design and construction with contractor Joel Smiley. She develops solutions that provide a unique architectural identity and forge strong connections between families and their spaces. We keep an open mind on questions of style preferring to strike a balance between the best solution for the site, our clients’ preferences, and what is potentially approvable for each particular site. Laura has worked extensively with historic homes in Boulder and the City of Boulder's Historic Preservation Program.
Laura received her Master of Architecture at the University of Colorado, Denver and her Bachelor of Environmental Design at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is a licensed Architect in Colorado and a LEED Accredited Professional. She has served on the Board of Directors for American Institute of Architects-Colorado and on the Steering Committee for Women in Design- Denver.
